HTC Sensation 4G available today, discounted online! June 15, 2011 No Comments

T-Mobile HTC SensationGuess what? Like we reported on earlier this month, the HTC Sensation is available today at T-Mobile. If you remember, the Sensation has been up for sale in Walmart stores for 3 days now, but is now available at T-Mobile storefronts nationwide. Even better yet, if you order online, you’ll get a $50 discount right off the top, bringing the phone down to match Walmart’s final price of $150.

Just as a refresher, the Sensation is one of the hottest phones available, with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3″ qHD screen, and HCT’s Sense 3.0 skin. The phone’s got super specs, and should a ridiculous phone to review. We’re trying to get our hands on one to review, so hang tight and keep your eye out for our take on the hottest phone on the block right now.

What do you think of the Sensation? Are you a T-Mo customer, and if so, will you be picking one up?

HTC Evo 3D joining View 4G on June 24th June 8, 2011 No Comments

HTC EVO 3DWhat’s that? What did you say? The View 4G isn’t enough on its own to get you into a Sprint store on the 24th? Well good news pal, here’s an extra something to get you up to the register and handing over that hard earned cash to Sprint instead of whoever you might at the moment…The HTC Evo 3D, which we gave you the rundown on back in the beginning of May, will be joining HTC’s View 4G in Sprint stores on the 24th.

This will make Sprint a premier carrier for HTC devices at the moment, as with the exception of T-Mobile’s upcoming Sensation (which will be hitting T-Mobile and Walmart stores this month), they’ve got the market cornered on the latest and greatest devices from the one of our favorite mobile manufacturers.

For a quick refresher on the device’s details, and more, hit up the read link below!

Sprint Leaks HTC Evo View 4G Release Date 1 Comment

Sprint HTC Evo View 4GLooks like we’ll have another tablet entering the fray soon. Sprint’s site has just leaked that HTC’s newest Sense based tablet will make it way onto the carrier’s shelves starting June 24th. If the iPad feels a little big to you, check out the View! Rocking Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Sense for Tablets, the UI and tablet experience should certainly best that of the original Galaxy Tab.

Additional specs include 32GB of internal storage, a single-core 1.5GHz processor, and front and rear facing cameras. With a 7″ screen, WiMax for super fast (although not quite LTE-fast) internet speeds, and the custom stylus to boot (sold seperately, what an oversight by HTC/Sprint…) the View does have some perks that might convince some to sign that (relatively) inexpensive Sprint contract.

The question is…Will you be one of them? Let us know what you think below, or hit us up on Twitter @ITKtweets!

4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Announced by Verizon June 7, 2011 2 Comments

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1Well, well, well! Looks like we’re inching ever closer to the release of the latest (and by far greatest so far) Android tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been revered as one of the slickest tablet experiences to date, competing head-to-head-with the iPad 2. Looks like we’ll see this one in stores tomorrow, 6/8, with 4G LTE on board.

While Apple may have hooked up their iPad (and other iOS devices) with a batch of new features yesterday, they aren’t available as of yet, and if you’ve got an Android phone, you may want to stay on the platform! So check out the remaining specs for this beast after the break!

HTC Sensation launching at T-Mobile June 15th, Walmart June 12th June 4, 2011 2 Comments

T-Mobile HTC Sensation

T-Mobile and HTC have officially announced that T-Mobile will begin selling the Sensation on June 15th. If you haven’t heard, the Sensation is HTC’s newest entry into the smartphone game, and happens to be a real doozy. Packing a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3″ screen, and Sense 3.0, the phone is definitely a new front runner as far as specs are concerned. Additionally, if you don’t feel like waiting, it looks like Walmart is getting an exclusive early launch, and will be selling the phones starting June 12th.

We’ve requested a review unit from HTC/T-Mobile, so be sure to check back soon for a full review. And if you haven’t already, sign up for our email list or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with us!

Is this a phone you’re interested in? Does the (relatively) small carrier that its launching on make the decision for you, one way or the other? (After all, with a little luck, we’ll see this phone on every major carrier regardless, albeit with a different name on each one.) Let us know what you’re thinking in the comments!

Slew of new phones available tomorrow, May 26th, on Verizon May 25, 2011 1 Comment

Verizon Wireless LogoSo we basically got a blizzard of phone release date announcements in the past week, and surprise, surprise, they’ll all be up for sale at Verizon Wireless stores nation wide at the same time next week. While we knew these phones were coming some time this spring or summer, none had official release dates until now, and we certainly didn’t expect them to release those dates so near to the actual day the phones will be up for sale.

Guess Verizon and company aren’t trying to hype these phones up too much, which makes me wonder, what’s coming that they’re waiting for? Regardless, read on for the phones that were released and a little about each to help you decide on your next phone!

HTC Announces the EVO 3D…Killer specs, plus 3D May 5, 2011 4 Comments

HTC EVO 3DYesterday Sprint announced their new hotness…The 4G EVO 3D, coming this summer. Aside from being a part of their increasingly popular EVO line of phones, the EVO 3D (even if you ignore the gimmicky new 3D technology) has the specs to stand apart on its on.

From a pure speed standpoint, this thing should be setting benchmark records across the board. With a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor (the EVO 3D being the first phone to get this chip,) a full gigabyte of RAM, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) running the show, this should easily be one of the snappiest Android phones on the market.

Click through for the rest of the base specs, and some details on the phone’s (coveted?) 3D capabilities.

HTC Merge Coming Soon? November 27, 2010 No Comments

Here’s an interesting little piece of news from the week…Looks like the new HTC Merge appeared for a quick day on Verizon’s site late in the prior week, being pulled down after less than 24 hours.  Just goes to show that while Verizon may not necessarily be ready to release this phone (or any info on it) to the public, it absolutely exists, and is likely to be on sale sometime in the near future.

The phone appears to have a nice keyboard with rubber-touch buttons, and is rumored to have a speedy 800MHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera with HD video capture, 512MB of RAM to keep things running smoothly, and 2GB of onboard storage for music and video. The screen size looks average as well, its certainly no Galaxy Tab, but anywhere between 3.5″ and 4″ should be fine for most. Hopefully that will be able to be complemented by some type of expandable storage, but only time will tell.  One thing that we definitely want to know is if HTC will include the front facing camera, like they are rumored to be doing with the Incredible HD.

Is this phone, with its great looks and hardware keyboard, on your list? Or are you more focused on something a little more advanced? Maybe something from the Droid family? Tell us in the comments!

HTC’s Incredible HD is the phone Verizon users have been waiting for! October 26, 2010 1 Comment

Hm. Well. This is awesome. Rumor has it that HTC’s Incredible HD will be available on Verizon on November 23rd. Why is this so great? Because frankly, this is the Android smart phone Verizon users have been waiting for. With a 4.3″ screen and front facing camera, the Incredible HD should be amazing for video chatting. It’s also got a stand, making it super convenient for video as well as video chat, as you can now enjoy both handsfree. These features, along with the assumed HD video capture from the back camera, make this Verizon’s true answer to Sprint’s Evo 4G.

The only thing one needs to consider now is how important 4G speeds are to them, as this is rumored to be a 3G only device, meaning that once Verizon’s LTE network begins going live in 2011 you won’t be able to take advantage of those extra high network speeds. Keep in mind though, that those 4G speeds for likely at least a year will only be in the major metropolitan areas, so suburbs probably won’t find LTE useful until 2012 anyway, and with the lengths of most contracts these days, this may prove to be a non-issue. I know that I’ll definitely be trying one out, and possible getting one, as soon as its available.

What do you think? Going to wait for LTE devices? Or are you up for an upgrade pretty soon and considering the Incredible HD? Let us know below!
