The WordPress App for iOS

As Colin said in his post about Mac apps for blogging with WordPress, WordPress is an extremely popular blogging tool and proves to be very beneficial. Many bloggers, including Colin and I, choose to use WordPress to help manage various blogs. However, if you are on the go and happen to be without a computer, have no fear! The App Store offers a WordPress app for iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads. Now let’s take a look at the app!

WordPress

The WordPress app, brought to us by Automattic Inc. allows us to fully use WordPress’ features and blog anytime we want, anywhere we want.  The app creates an easy way to manage your WordPress.com blog while on the go. Not only can you create and edit posts, but the app offers comment moderation, management of pages, and the easy addition of videos or pictures. The app is extremely beneficial if you do not want to lug your laptop around, and are seeking an easy way to blog while you are out and about. However, the keyboard of an iPod or iPhone is not fun to use when you are planning on creating a new lengthy post, such as a review of some sort. The iPad‘s large display and keyboard is definitely a much better choice for writing longer posts, instead of whipping out a laptop.

Overview

All in all, the WordPress app provides us with a quick and easy way to manage our blog or website using iPods, iPhones, or iPads. The iPod and iPhone prove to be a brilliant way to make quick fixes or add short new posts, but if you are looking to generate a long entry the best choice is the iPad. I have tested the app on all three products, and overall I was pleased with the outcome of it. I have heard people complaining about not being able to log in, or the program crashing when they try to load a post, but for me it has worked beautifully. In my opinion, if you are an avid blogger and you would like to manage your site quickly and easily, then open up the app store and download it immediately. After all, it is free of charge so there’s nothing to lose!

How does the app work for you? Would you recommend it to others? Comment Below!
