Droid Decision Making
For any Verizon users out there you understand the buzz over the new Droid line of smartphones on the market. They are the number one competitors with AT&T’s iPhone 3GS and now the iPhone 4. While I do enjoy using the iPhone 4, I am loyal to Verizon’s service and am ready to buy a new smartphone. However, I am still not positive about exactly which model I’d like, but I have narrowed it down to the Droid Incredible, Droid X, and the Droid 2. For a change of pace, instead of ITK giving you the advice on what to buy; we’d like you to give us your opinion on the best buy here. Obviously they are all great smartphones, but which one exceeds the others? Please keep in mind, price is not a concern and does not need to play a factor in our decision, as these phones are all high end models and will come in at similar price ranges regardless. The specs of each phone are as follows:
| Specs | Droid Incredible by HTC | Droid X by Motorola | Droid 2 by Motorola |
| Weight | 4.59oz | 5.47oz | 5.96oz |
| Usage Time | 312 mins | 480 mins | 575 mins |
| Standby Time | 146 hours | 220 hours | 315 hours |
| Size | 4.63H x 2.3W x 0.47D | 5.02H x 2.57W x 0.39D | 4.58H x 2.36W x 0.54D |
| Memory | ROM: 512MB, RAM: 512MB DDR | 8 GB internal – 8GB Flash/512MB RAM | 8GB Internal; Up to 40GB total |
| Camera | 8 Megapixel | 8.0 Megapixel | 5.0 Megapixel |
| Bluetooth | Enabled | Enabled | Enabled |
| Music Player | Enabled | Enabled | Enabled |
| Qwerty Keyboard | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Yes | Yes | Yes | |
| Touch Screen | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Texting | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Although many of the specs are the same throughout all three models, there are major differences among them. Another thing we would love to hear from you is the stability of the phone and its ability to survive drops. If you are looking to buy a Droid, use the above spec chart to help you in your decision and if you have one of the three, or even a different smartphone, we would love to hear your input on which is the absolute best buy!
