HTC Sensation launching at T-Mobile June 15th, Walmart June 12th June 4, 2011 2 Comments

T-Mobile HTC Sensation

T-Mobile and HTC have officially announced that T-Mobile will begin selling the Sensation on June 15th. If you haven’t heard, the Sensation is HTC’s newest entry into the smartphone game, and happens to be a real doozy. Packing a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3″ screen, and Sense 3.0, the phone is definitely a new front runner as far as specs are concerned. Additionally, if you don’t feel like waiting, it looks like Walmart is getting an exclusive early launch, and will be selling the phones starting June 12th.

We’ve requested a review unit from HTC/T-Mobile, so be sure to check back soon for a full review. And if you haven’t already, sign up for our email list or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with us!

Is this a phone you’re interested in? Does the (relatively) small carrier that its launching on make the decision for you, one way or the other? (After all, with a little luck, we’ll see this phone on every major carrier regardless, albeit with a different name on each one.) Let us know what you’re thinking in the comments!

Slew of new phones available tomorrow, May 26th, on Verizon May 25, 2011 1 Comment

Verizon Wireless LogoSo we basically got a blizzard of phone release date announcements in the past week, and surprise, surprise, they’ll all be up for sale at Verizon Wireless stores nation wide at the same time next week. While we knew these phones were coming some time this spring or summer, none had official release dates until now, and we certainly didn’t expect them to release those dates so near to the actual day the phones will be up for sale.

Guess Verizon and company aren’t trying to hype these phones up too much, which makes me wonder, what’s coming that they’re waiting for? Regardless, read on for the phones that were released and a little about each to help you decide on your next phone!

T-Mobile LG G-Slate

T-Mobile announced official pricing for the G-Slate yesterday, and you can get yours for as low as $529 with a 2 year contract. The G-Slate is shaping up to be T-Mo’s flagship tablet, featuring all the specs you’d expect from a good Android tablet at this point.

With Honeycomb, a 1GHz dual core processor, WiFI hotspot internet connection sharing, and GPS, the G-Slate is real competition for Motorola’s Xoom. And with 3D recording and a 3D display to match, it makes an interesting pair with HTC’s latest release.

HTC Announces the EVO 3D…Killer specs, plus 3D May 5, 2011 4 Comments

HTC EVO 3DYesterday Sprint announced their new hotness…The 4G EVO 3D, coming this summer. Aside from being a part of their increasingly popular EVO line of phones, the EVO 3D (even if you ignore the gimmicky new 3D technology) has the specs to stand apart on its on.

From a pure speed standpoint, this thing should be setting benchmark records across the board. With a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor (the EVO 3D being the first phone to get this chip,) a full gigabyte of RAM, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) running the show, this should easily be one of the snappiest Android phones on the market.

Verizon Getting the iPhone on Tuesday!? January 7, 2011 No Comments

Oh snap, get out your wallets. Engadget has reported, and the Wall Street Journal has confirmed, that the iPhone may finally be coming to Verizon this coming Tuesday. Is this just a rumor for now? Absolutely, but what’s not a rumor is that Verizon has announced a big announcement for next Tuesday, right after finishing up CES.

To add some fuel to the fire, it was pretty widely speculated a few weeks back that the iPhone would be released onto Verizon the week following CES. While we won’t officially come out and say its happening, as no one really can without an amazing inside source, it does look like this is the most likely time or it to happen since the rumors have begun.

The one thing stacked against this rumor is the assumption that Apple would allow Verizon to make this announcement. While Apple hasn’t really announced the iPhone being added to a carrier since the iPhone’s first announcement to AT&T, this is probably its biggest release ever, since demand seems to be pretty pent up for the phone on this major US network.

We’ll have more on this as we hear it, so stay tuned! In the meantime, what do you think? Is it finally here?
